John Jay High School Student Awarded Landsman Scholarship
A coveted four-year tuition scholarship to UTSA
|
| Melissa Ramos, a John Jay High School senior, has been selected as the 2009 recipient of the Richard and Martha Landsman Community Service Scholarship through the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County.
The four-year tuition scholarship, created by the Landsmans in 1993, is awarded annually to a deserving high school senior who needs financial assistance to attend UTSA, has maintained a grade point average of at least 2.0 and has demonstrated outstanding community service and traits.

Not only does Ramos excel in her rigorous academic coursework as a member of John Jay’s advanced placement Science and Engineering Academy, she also performs well in the community. For the past several years, Ramos has proven to be a tireless teen volunteer, logging over 115 hours of community service.
