Successful Children's Issue Council

Our Vision

The vision of the Children’s Issue Council is defined as “all children age birth thru 5, with special emphasis on birth to three, residing in zip codes 78207 and 78237 are prepared to succeed when they enter school.”

Nurturing and effective parenting are essential to children’s development, health and lifelong well-being.  While all parents want to do their best, they can not always do it alone.

Research indicates that five important factors increase the capacity of parents, caregivers and communities to nurture, protect and promote the healthy development of children and improve their school readiness and success.
